Archangel Michael is referred to as the greatest of all Angels in writings throughout the world, including Jewish, Christian and Islamic. Its said there are 72 Angels. Angels do not want your worship they are our Friends and want to help us. If you need one just ask but you must beleive.
Glass Cube Lights
Glass Cube Lights 2011. These are all made by Lodge members. This is one of many items our craft group come up with that are unique to each Festival. Although we only had a Friday evening in 2011 because of a Hurricane we still sold about 1/2 of what we made.
Some Festival Facts -
1. There have been over 280 members of the North Haven Sons and Daughters of Italy Volunteer to work on this event the last 6 years.
2. One of the goals of our Festival will always be to provide a venue for talented children and young adults in our community to perform.
3. There have been over 300 children who have volunteered to perform for our guests over the last 6 years

The Mass will now be held in St Therese Church, 555 Middletown Ave, North Haven, Thursday August 25th. Here are some pictures of the mass the last 2 years. It was held on the North Haven Green.

Regarding this years Festival -We are trying to blend in lots of new ideas and we also are trying to keep some of our older ideas interesting for our Guests. My goal in 2010 is to try to put some of the social value back into this event. Recently a new Friend said to me – Leave the egos someplace else. I agree with that.
Social Value = Fun - I think I let it slip away the last few years. We need to have some fun folks. Wouldn't you agree?
We would like anyone to step up who has something that they would like to Display, Demonstrate or Talk about and that has something to do with Italian Culture or your Italian family life or history. Please come to festival meeting on the 8th of April with your ideas. I am open to all ideas, but the only way your idea can happen is if you come talk to us. We have a lot of dedicated folks involved and we can make just about anything work. The end result might not be exactly as you think when you start but I promise we will try to make everyones ideas work. Here are some of the people you can talk with – Fran, Maria, Andy, Glenn, Earl, Gary T, Diane, Antoinetta, Len Stepleman or Me. The Festival meetings will be on 2nd Thursdays through October.
If your idea is more of a craft idea you should see Diane Soares too
Len Stepleman is our events director. When your demo or your idea is approved, He will schedule the time. Len is in charge of all events. There is a form you should fill out once you're ready. The forms should be turned into Lauren DeRosa. I will approve all the demos myself. We will explain the process to you again when you're ready but I am mentioning this now just so you have some idea of what to expect.
Last year we trademarked the name Italian Festival of Angels. That is our official name. The lodge owns the trademark. This allows us to use the name for this event for as long as we do it. It also means that no one else can use the name. It also allows us to put this name on merchandise. Some without restrictions and some with restrictions
We also own the Mark for putting Italian Festival of Angels, name on Clothing, such as shirts, hats and pants. We may also put the name on other merchandise such as mugs, key rings, but with some restrictions. I will explain in detail to anyone who wants to know.
The plan right now for our food tent is that we are not going to be selling hot food since we have no one who wants to run this. We will continue to sell Italian ice. We will replace cannoli with some Italian pastry but limit the kinds. If anyone would like to give us some help in finalizing this or if you would like to run a section let Al, Maryellen, Nathan or Myself know ASAP. We are also thinking of ways we can feed volunteers and we need some help with that too. If you would like to help please come forward.
The Festival will begin on Thursday with a mass on the Green, followed by our Procession of Angels. The procession is for children so please we would like you to bring the children in your lives to participate in this traditional event. This year a new and fun idea is going to be run by Sally Gill. We are going to have a game section, we are not exactly sure what the games will be yet. Dominoes and pinochle are possibilities. I would like to at least have one Game Tournament during Festival. If you're interested in helping with something like this contact Sally or Me
There are so many more ides, I have them and can give them to you but I would much rather know that they are your ideas. If your shy about your idea, please don't be, or someone told you before (even if it was me) that we can't do it. Come forward again because a lot has changed and we may now be able to do things we could not do before. The only thing I am certain of is that there will be no food tasting demos and No rides or carnival attractions.
